The 2019 season
Every player from 2019, the season the majors hit more home runs than in any year before it. Ten teams dealt from the real 2019 pool, playing a fresh 60-game season every couple of weeks.
Major-league hitters set the all-time record for home runs in 2019, and strikeouts rose to a record for yet another year. Bullpens did more of the work than ever, and a few clubs began starting games with a reliever, the “opener”. Every player here is rated from that season’s play-by-play.
Player ratings come from Retrosheet play-by-play. Clubs are shown by the game’s own team names; see credits.
