The sim

Every plate appearance, played out.

Games are not coin flips weighted by overall ratings. Each plate appearance is batter against pitcher in that era’s league, and everything you see in a box score is what actually happened in the sim.

Batter against pitcher

Each plate appearance combines the hitter’s and the pitcher’s skills (contact, power, eye, stuff and control, split by handedness) against the league’s baseline, then plays out the result: the strikeout, the walk, the ground ball through the hole, the fly ball to the wall.

The whole game around it

Fielders turn balls in play into outs (or errors), runners take the extra base or get thrown out, managers pinch-hit, steal, bunt and walk the dangerous hitter, and starters tire with their pitch count until the bullpen takes over, with the best relievers saved for the biggest moments.

Calibrated, then measured

The engine was tuned against 25 measurements of real baseball, from strikeout rate to stolen-base success, and twenty-season test runs land inside 24 of them. Every real season is checked again against what actually happened before it ships.

Watch it back

Every game is stored as its full play-by-play: box scores, a win-probability chart, highlights and a play-by-play replay. Hide-scores mode keeps results secret until you have watched them. And a game that is simmed again from the same start always plays out the same way.
