The 1986 season
A second league of 1986 players — the year of Roger Clemens’ 20-strikeout game and Wade Boggs’ .357. Different teams, same era.
Mid-1980s baseball ran on speed and contact: stolen bases, artificial turf and starters who often finished their own games. Roger Clemens struck out 20 in a game that April, and Wade Boggs hit .357 to win another batting title.
Player ratings come from Retrosheet play-by-play. Clubs are shown by the game’s own team names; see credits.
